Week 9 Letter

Hello my dear little one,

How’s it going in there lately? I’m sure things are going quite well — you should be comfortable by now. I’m working hard to keep you safe and sound in my ute.

Lots of things have been happening lately. We’ve told much of your extended family (aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, great-aunts, great-grandparents, etc.) about you, and everyone is so excited for your arrival. You are already so loved, my dear. Your grandmothers have both already bought you little things.

My mom has bought you blankets, bed sheets, a bear, some clothes, and books. I’ve even read the Christmas one to you already even though you cannot hear yet (my mom kind of insisted). Your daddy’s mom bought you the most adorable caterpillar that is almost as long as I am tall! It has the alphabet on it, so I’m sure you’ll get to learn from it while you are playing. :)

I’ve been buying things for you, too. I just can’t help it! I know it’s early and most mommies don’t do this so early, but I like to be prepared. I’ve bought you seven cloth diapers. You are going to have the cutest little bum in the world! And your diapers will be so soft and comfortable. I hope you like them as much as I do.

While your daddy and I have been busy buying diapers for you, receiving gifts for you, and telling your family all about you, you have been busy yourself! All your organs are now accounted for, which is fabulous! And your facial features are forming — your eyes are already in place! I can’t wait to look into your eyes on your birthday. In seven more weeks, the ears that you are forming right now will allow you to hear my voice and your daddy’s voice.

I am truly loving preparing for you, even though I’m only doing a little at a time. I can’t wait for July. We have much time before you arrive, but I feel as if the months will fly. Keep yourself snuggled up in there, okay? You are allowed to exit anytime after June 30. :)

I’m excited to spend the next several months with you.
